Merry Christmas 2008

The team at Wigston's Lures would like to wish all the members and Tassie Devil anglers a very Merry Christmas and a safe and Happy New Year for 2009. Thank you to all those who took the time to visit our website and purchase our Tasmanian Devil Fishing Lures from around the world. ***** In 2008 we sent lures to anglers in Canada, USA, England, Sweden, New Zealand, Norway, Australia, Germany, Isle of Man, Scotland, Ireland, Wales, Argentina, Japan, Russia, Finland & Denmark to name just a few, along with our growing list of distributors in almost 40 countries around the world. Thank you for helping the Tasmanian Devil lure become a worldwide name. ***** Keep those wonderful fishing photos coming in to us. We enjoy seeing the wide range of fish species our lures catch each year in both fresh and saltwater fisheries. You may even find your photo in our on-line photo gallery. Once again thank you for taking the time to send these photos to us. ***** 2009 will be a milestone year for Wigston's Lures. It will mark 30 years of production for the Tasmanian Devil Lure. 2009 will also see us produce the 20,000,000 Tasmanian Devil Lure. Not bad for a family owned business on a little island at the bottom of Australia. We only have a population of just under 500,000 people. I think it goes to show the true strngth of the Tassie Devil Lure. Tasmania might be a small place but it is renowned for its fishing qualities. A world class trout fishery with one of the purest strains of wild brown trout remaining in the world. The majority of our lakes are entirely self sustaining which allows the wild fish to thrive through the years. Rainbow Trout and to a lesser extent Brook Trout also feature in our fishery. ***** Our saltwater fishery is also exceptional with most Australian records for tuna falling in Tasmanian waters. The jewel in the crown the Southern Bluefin Tuna regarded as the best gamefish in southern waters. National Record of 155kg taken off the east coast of Tasmania. Bluefin in excess of 210kg have been taken by professional fishermen also. ***** We will have a new colour brochure with the latest colour range in early 2009. These will continue to be sent out with each order so you can check off the colours you need to add to the tackle box. Our latest colour, #96 Abigail has been enormously successful in the last couple of months since its release. Due to its success the #96 is now available in all four sizes from our on-line store. While your there don't forget about the large boat stickers to show your love of our Tasmanian Devil Lures. A range of hats for all conditions is also available embroided with the Tassie Devil Logo. ***** Stuart Wigston rejoined the team towards the end of 2008 and will continue to liaise with our international distributors. Stuart is the son of Garth who is owner and Managing Director of Wigston's Lures. ***** From all the staff in the factory, Garth, Staurt and myself, we would once again thank you for your continued support and look forward to helping you catch bigger and better fish in 2009. MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR. ***** Justin Causby - Manager, Wigston's Lures
