NEW ADDITIONS Some of our new colours and a couple of older favourites have seen their availability expand to other sizes. Our latest colour, the #95 Candy Cane, has been working very well in NZ and again for anglers elsewhere. The red and white colourization has long been a favourite with saltwater anglers and this colour scheme matched with the unique Tassie Devil action has been smashing the fish in the saltwater. The #95 was in 13.5gr and will now be available in new sizes, 7gr & 20gr. The Yellow wing range has been finding enormous popularity over the past year or two. This growth has prompted the addition of several old colours to new size ranges. Additions include - 7gr: #95, Y82, Y94 and S12 - Dual Depth 20gr: #82 and 95 All the new colours sizes can be purchased from the Webshop. NEW DISTRIBUTORS We have recently welcomed two new distributors to the Tassie Devil family. In Turkey we have added - FARMA Fishing and Hunting Equipment Co. In South Africa we have added - The Tackle Box EDDIE WIGSTON COMPETITION Our annual event, the Eddie Wigston Competition, was recently held at the central lakes in Tasmania with the weigh in centre and other activities centered around Bronte Park Lodge. This competition has been held for many years and is in memory of the founder of Tasmanian Devil lures. The weather was as to be expected at such an altitude, many local and visiting anglers participated in the event, and numerous lakes in the area were fished, many giving anglers good catches, others remaining steadfast in not giving up any of their trout. The event was held over the long weekend, and some of the results were... Entrants: 31 Teams (71 anglers) Fish: 151 Weight: 89.73kg Av wgt: 0.594kg Team Prize: The Swinging Cans - Kelvin Triffett, Robert Firns and Wokey Shearing (31 fish @ 20.09kg) Heaviest Fish 6-13yrs: James Pearce 1.195kg Rainbow (Dee Lagoon) Heaviest Fish 14-17yrs: Dave Williams 0.980kg Rainbow (Lake Echo) Dave is our young spray painter. Heaviest Senior & Overall (Ian Wigston Memorial Prize): Adam Williams 2.370kg Brown (Bradys Lake) While the fishing was not easy most lakes this year returned fish with Echo once again leading the way. Saturday saw many waters blanketed in thick smoke from the large bushfire that burned to within 500m of Dee Lagoon. Some top fish from Bradys with Bronte Lagoon giving up a number of trout early on Sunday morning to one group fishing lures in the wind lanes. Dee fished well Saturday evening to fly anglers with several taken trolling in the twilight All in all a very successful few days and most anglers went away pleased with their results. SALES ACTIVITY We are still having a lot of success in our sales activity both here and overseas - New Zealand are selling large volumes of Tassie Devils and they are proving to be a top fish catcher over there. The European states are starting to make inroads with our sales, and of course we have the ongoing consistent markets in UK, America, and Far East. Generally there seems to be a wider acceptance each year of our product no doubt attributed to the success anglers are having in many countries and with many different species of fish worldwide. PHOTO GALLERY Make sure that you keep an eye on our photo gallery as we do add new photos on a regular basis - should you have one of the 'nice big fish' email it in to us and we will probably include your efforts for all to see!
