New Rod

I've just started using a new Quantum Response rod and it is the best thing I've come across for a very long time.
Punches well out of it's price bracket. I can not beleive how strong it is.
It's rated 3-5kg and I'm waiting on the new 2-4kg to come into stock and I'll be grabbing one of those too :D
My first time out with it I managed 17 trout at Lake Echo in Tasmania. They were not big, up to 1kg, but it really saved the day. I managed to leave my other rods (Diawa Heartland and Berkley Dropshot) at home and had the Quantum in the car as I had just picked it up. Spooled it with Shimano Technium 4kg and i cast flawlessly. Even threw around some really light lures (4gr) well along with the heavier Tassie Devils.

Thats a nice way to break in a new rod.......happy fishing.
Hopefully I will be in Tassie in the next few weeks and will get to have a fish....

How's that planned trip to Tassie coming along.
Trout season is now closed but still a few lakes open year round with the Great Lake probably the pick.
If you have the chance the Bluefin Tuna are going crazy, get yourself on a charter. Fish up to 150kg have been lost and a few around 120kg boated with most averaging 25-30kg
